OnePrompt — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 7, 2026

1. Overview

OnePrompt is a Chrome extension that helps you analyze websites and generate AI prompts. It is designed with privacy-first principles. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing happens locally in your browser.

2. What Data We Collect

OnePrompt does not collect any personal information. We do not collect usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, or any identifying data. We do not use cookies or tracking pixels.

When you use the extension, video recordings, screenshots, and page analysis data are stored only in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your own device. Your settings and preferences are also saved locally. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server.

3. Where Your Data is Stored

All data generated by OnePrompt is stored exclusively on your local device. Recordings and images are stored in your browser's IndexedDB. Settings are stored in browser localStorage. We do not operate any databases, cloud servers, or backend infrastructure. You have full control over your data at all times and can delete it through the extension or via your browser's developer tools.

4. Permissions We Request and Why

OnePrompt requests the following Chrome extension permissions, each with a specific and necessary purpose:

activeTab: To identify the website you are currently recording.

tabCapture: To capture the video stream from your active browser tab.

scripting: To inject scroll automation and page analysis scripts into the page you choose to record.

offscreen: To run the video recorder in a background document as required by Chrome's Manifest V3.

storage: To save your preferences locally on your device.

Host permissions (all URLs): To allow the extension to work on any website you choose to record. This permission is not used for any tracking or data collection.

5. Video Processing

OnePrompt uses FFmpeg, an open-source library, for video compression. All video processing happens entirely within your browser using WebAssembly. No video data is ever sent to an external server. Compression only runs locally and only when needed.

6. Third-Party Services

OnePrompt does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. We do not use Google Analytics, crash reporting tools, advertising networks, or any external APIs that receive your data. The extension makes no network requests with your personal data.

7. Downloads and Exported Files

When you download files from OnePrompt, they are saved directly to your device's download folder. We do not retain copies of any exported files. All exported content — including videos, screenshots, and AI prompts — remains entirely under your control.

8. Security

Your data is protected through browser-level security. IndexedDB storage is encrypted by your browser. The extension runs within Chrome's sandboxed environment and communicates only with local browser APIs. No data is transmitted over the network.

9. Your Rights

You have full control over your data at all times. You can delete all recordings and data through the extension interface. You can revoke permissions at any time via Chrome's extension settings at chrome://extensions. Uninstalling the extension will remove all associated data from your browser.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
